All students should attend at least one floor meeting at the start of the semester. Monday august 24 2020. Each student s university id card will be activated allowing access to that student s room on the day of their move in appointment. New first year students must be moved in by sunday august 23 at noon in order to begin their extended orientation process that will start that afternoon.

Undergraduate courses will still begin aug. Fall 2020 classes begin. Incoming students should bring a valid government issued photo id driver s license passport or us military id in order to obtain their university of virginia id card. Monday september 7 2020.

Housing residence life works collaboratively to create open welcoming communities on grounds for students at the university of virginia. That is why we will continue to monitor conditions closely and if necessary will put more restrictions in place move classes online and if need be send students home. We are creating an expanded wahoo welcome program for all incoming first year students. Students will need to be able to show proof of their negative covid 19 test.

While in the past this has been a one day event it will now be a multiple day process with various move in blocks. Residents are empowered to engage their potential as scholars and leaders through self governance and participation in residential area activities and leadership. The university of virginia announced tuesday that it will delay undergraduate in person instruction and residence hall move in dates by two weeks in response to an uptick in local and national coronavirus cases.
